DEBATE
AND DIALOGUE –
THAT’S WHAT WE

STAND FOR

CO³ – the name stands for cologne | contemporary | concept – is an independent non-profit initiative and offspace. We consider our exhibition space in Cologne a meeting place for contemporary art, culture, and music. Through the presentation of artistic perspectives, we aim to encourage a broad audience to engage in dialogue about current topics and issues, fostering progressive and respectful interaction in a multicultural, diverse society.
Art contributes to exchange and builds bridges between cultures.

CO³ focuses on supporting young, emerging artists navigating the intersection of
diversity and transculturality.

By engaging with and dialoguing about contemporary, artistic perspectives, CO³ aims to provide a platform for a wide audience to exchange ideas on current topics and issues. The goal is to practice and promote a progressive and respectful coexistence in a multicultural, diverse society.

CO³’s program involves the realization of exhibition and event concepts, curated by rotating teams, emphasizing diversity and transculturality.

Additionally, CO³ provides space for self-initiated exhibitions by up-and-coming artists. The initiative also offers a mentorship program for art students and young artists in the region. This includes curatorial guidance for exhibition projects and portfolios, as well as support with press work, grant applications, or assistance in networking with other institutions and cultural professionals in Cologne.

CO³ is a member of the Art Initiative Cologne (AIC), a network of independent, non-commercial art and project spaces as well as festivals in Cologne.

COLOGNE
IS ART
AND INSPIRATION

The CO³ offspace is located in the heart of Cologne’s Kunibertsviertel, not far from the central train station and the Rhine River. Thürmchenswall is one of the oldest streets in Cologne.

HISTORY

CO³ was founded in January 2021 by Leila Cheraghi, a Cologne resident with Iranian roots, who implements her projects with the support of rotating co-curators and artists.

In the relatively short history of CO³, we have already curated and realized over 24 exhibitions and have collaborated with universities, cultural institutions, the Ministry of Culture of North Rhine-Westphalia, and the Cultural Office of the City of Cologne.
