In the Orient, they say that the heart begins to speak when the mouth is silent. But I hear nothing. The city is too loud. I let myself be distracted by the diversity, I am numbed by the hustle and bustle and the noise. I don’t want to know anything. Neither about the Arab Spring ending in failure, nor about Syria, nor about the daily Corona numbers.

The information age and the density of cities leave little room for retreat. Where are the places of spiritual experience or critical reflection? How easy it is to be distracted every day: From real life in the city, from the TV in the countryside, from smart phones everywhere. Information is exchanged via devices on social networks, stored in milliseconds and then forgotten. Will I still manage to find access to fellow human beings?

Over the course of a week, various window performances by international artists* will be on display. Speech and sound would, of course, only be audible to passers-by if the city was at rest. A QR-code, however, leads to sound compositions stored in the cloud from life sounds of different cultural circles.
