Faces and hands are at the center of the paintings of Iranian artist Asal Khosravi.
The hands of the figures act with something, but the spaces remain undefined and the figures stay detached from any concrete situation. A sphere between reality and fiction emerges, which seems strange and mysterious and, despite a realistic style of representation, appears surrealistic.

In her works, Asal Khosravi traces the questions of refugee and migration, but also the question of the own and the other – up-to-date questions, which are driving our contemporary world.
