In the space of CO³ there is an old piano that is closely linked to the history of the exhibition venue.

Sebastian Fritzsch (born in Cologne, 1977 / lives and works in Cologne) takes his monograph, published this year, as the basis for developing a site-specific, expansive installation of ink drawings, paintings, and objects. He incorporates the piano into this arrangement of existing works from recent years.

Sebastian Fritzsch finds and collects forms of expression that seem to come from an archaic and hyperindividual pool and transfers them to paper and canvas, moulds them in clay, or reproduces them photographically. He uses this cognitive apparatus in the style of a cabinet of curiosities, which juxtaposes “objects” in an equal and unbiased way, to explore his inner collection of images and experiences, which he elaborates in his works.
